What to replace 1C with in a shop

The price of 1C is almost never a single line. On top of the configuration itself come per-seat licences, the computer or server it all runs on, the initial setup for your shop, updates, and usually a specialist you call when something breaks or changes.

Naming exact figures honestly is not possible: they depend on the configuration, the number of seats and which partner you buy from. But the shape of the cost is the same everywhere — an upfront payment, then recurring costs that rarely make it into the original estimate.

A subscription works differently: one monthly amount in somoni covering updates, hosting and support, with no server, because the software runs in a browser and in a mobile app.

Three things usually need to move: products, stock and customers. All three go across as spreadsheets — export from 1C to Excel, import into Refresh, where re-importing updates existing lines rather than creating duplicates.

Products with sizes and colours migrate as variants, and stock can be split across several shops in separate columns. Customer debts come across with the customer list, so the nasiya ledger does not restart from zero.

The till keeps taking cash while the internet is down and syncs the sales when the connection returns — which is usually the whole reason a shop keeps a local installation in the first place.

Several locations run in one system: stock, prices, staff permissions and profit are tracked per branch, and transfers between shops are recorded as documents. The owner checks the numbers from a phone instead of walking to the computer the database lives on.

Refresh is not accounting software. If what you need is bookkeeping and local statutory reporting, 1C is still required, and a stock-control system will not replace it.

The same goes for heavily customised processes that already have bespoke work written for them: rewriting those from scratch usually costs more than leaving them alone. A common arrangement is to keep the accounting in 1C and run the shop in Refresh.
